Case IH goes big with AF11 combine
Visitors to next week’s National Farm Machinery show will be able to see two of the biggest combines in the business; the New Holland CR11 and Case IH AF11.First seen at Agritechnica, then again at the Belgian Agribex show in December, quite a lot is known about the New Holland machine. The UK debut was at LAMMA, and the CR11 will make its first North American appearance at the Louisville (Kentucky) show which runs from February 14-17.The AF11, on the other hand, has yet to break cover. The North American show will be the launch. More than five years in development, we know from earlier press releases that the most powerful Case IH combine ever built shares its 775hp engine and 20,000-litre grain tank (210l/sec unloading rate) with the CR11.Earlier reports suggested that the new AF retained the tried and trusted single rotor concept. Not true, because it shares the same the twin rotor as the CR11.Called AFXL2, and the brand’s first-ever twin rotor, the longer (3.6m) design provides 50% more separation over previous models. The AF11 is the first model in the new series, and Case IH is testing prototypes worldwide. However, the latest press release states that it will only be available in North America. For now, perhaps, but we would not be surprised to see the Class 10+ machine added to European price lists at some point and we understand that at least one of the limited number of pre-production models planned for this year will come to the UK.Biggest ever Case IH combine – ProfiNew Holland CR11: new flagship combine – ProfiFor more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi and save 47%.Share this: TwitterFacebookRedditWhatsApp Steven Vale
