Mounted rake from Kuhn
The GA7631 P is the latest twin rotor rake from Kuhn, but unlike the other models this is fully mounted. By making the 1,500kg machine mounted, Kuhn has been able to remove the axle and some of the cost of the 4.0m long machine. The working width of the new addition is 7.40m and has hydraulic width adjustment for creating a 1.30m to 2.20m wide swath. “Mounted twin-rotor rakes might not be as popular as their trailed equivalents in the UK, but the manoeuvrability allows users to access hard to reach fields with a machine that offers output to match a trailed rake,” points out Sam Alford, Kuhn UK’s grassland product specialist. The 7631 P uses several familiar Kuhn components, such as the MasterDrive GII maintenance-free gearbox and the tine arm bearings have greasing intervals every 200 hours. To lower contamination, the rake’s rotors offer 3D articulation in all directions to follow ground contours accurately and collect all cut crop. The raking height is manually set via a crank arm but there is also the option of hydraulic control. Other regular rake adjustments, such as folding, unfolding and individual rotor lift can be carried out from the tractor.“The GA 7631 P is the ideal rake for users requiring a compact and manoeuvrable design but requiring output similar to trailed twin-rotor models,” explains Sam. “It uses renowned features that are proven on other Kuhn GA models, providing longevity and ease of use for operators.”
