Maintaining level, pot-hole-free tracks is a true labour of love but can be made easier with a box grader. Jacobsens GFM’s Twin-Track can extend from 2.5m out to a full 3m working width.Quick-change tungsten-tipped planer teeth up front rip up the surface while a levelling bar evens out the material. Stone can be added and steadily distributed as the machine moves along. The Twin-Track now has the additional option of a hydraulically driven vibrating tamping bar at the rear which packs down the finished surface, avoiding the need for a further pass with a vibe-roller. It adds £2,750 to the £8,000 price tag for the standard galvanised box grader.
